simple = effective

That is the tagline of my new blog "simple sean".  One of my new goals, inspired by using my MacBook, is to simplify my life.  Reducing distractions and redundant tasks to a minimum provides more time for creative expression and working towards life long goals, such as writing a novel.

Oddly enough WordPress, one of the simplest blogging platforms available, and the engine that runs SeanDareOnline,  is still too complicated for my tastes.  Logging in to post, constantly updating the WordPress software, constantly updating the plugins, even updating polls and countdown timers takes too much mental energy away from what I wanted a blog for in the first place.

The solution lies with Posterous, a new blogging service that makes posting to a blog dead easy.  If you can send an email and an attachment you can post to Posterous.  They also take care of all the niggling updates that a website requires, leaving my time free to write entries.

There is only one downside to using Posterous.  It isn't customizable...yet.  But as you will see the ease of posting and the ability to import the entirety of this blog make up for that.  Not to mention they will be offering themes soon anyway, so that issue is only temporary.

As a result of this desire for simplicity, and the discovery of Posterous, I have decided to shut this blog down.  Don't fear, I have multiple replacements for you.

First, there is simplesean.posterous.com (full easy to remember URL coming soon) where I will write about the techniques and challenges associated with simplifying life.

Second, there is uniquelypre.posterous.com (Full easy to remember URL coming soon) where I will write about unique and preposterous things.  This blog will more closely resemble SeanDareOnline.com

Third, I have imported the entirety of SeanDareOnline.com to seandareonline.posterous.com (Not sure if I will point the current URL here, or if I will drop it entirely.  Comments are welcome on this decision.)  This site is an archive of SeanDareOnline so you won't lose any of the wonderful posts you have come to love.

Lastly, I have decided to keep this site up till the end of September.  Giving each of you plenty of time to get used to the new blogging platforms.  After that you will have to read SeanDareOnline at seandareonline.posterous.com.
